PapPen for immunohistochemistry
TECHNICAL AND FUNCTIONAL FEATURES
A – PapPens depose a hydro-repellent wax film useful to delimitate the staining area.
Before the use, maintain A – PapPen in vertical position and lightly press, avoiding that the wax liquid weeps overly, but assuring
that it flows until the tip. In case of over-escape, clean the tip with a cloth.
In case of paraffin sections, dewax the sections like usual, rinse the sections in water and then dry the part of slide around the
section and apply the wax film with a pen. Let dry at room temperature.
The repellent film may be removed with xylene.
A – PapPen pen has the followed advantages in confront of a traditional pen for immunohistochemistry:
The pen writes directly on wet slide;
The wax film resists until 120°C;
It is usable with stains that need microwave and with in situ ibridization procedures.
In case of frozen sections, wash before slides with xylene or treat them with glycerine albumin or polysine or use pre-treated
slides.
